The Into Thin Air team are very pleased to announce the support of BIPVco (Newport) who manufacture the innovative Flextron solar photovoltaic mat. The Flextron solar mats will be placed on the roof of each of the three expedition trucks and, in the clear air of the Atacama, will charge reserve batteries by day which will then power all the expedition electronic equipment.
Daniel Pillai, the co-founder of BIPVco said that his company are very pleased to be supporting the team and thereby helping to fulfil the primary expedition objective to demonstrate that remote expeditions over challenging terrain can be achieved by using a full carbon-mitigation strategy.
